On August 19th, the worldwide biggest 3D bodypanting image was created on a gigantic surface of 187 square meters. An impressive number of 253 volunteers found themselves at the Exhibition Center in Vienna to be transformed into a huge underwater art piece by multiple world bodypaint champion Gabriela Hakel-Renner and her team of 60 artists. Almost 8 hours later, the masterpiece was finally accomplished and Martin Aigner, one of the REEFKALENDER’s initiators, captured the masterpiece on camera on top of a 10-meter high crane. As the cover image of the REEFKALENDER 2018, the new bodypainting world record will hopefully not only inspire the audience but also raise awareness for the preservation of the ocean and environment.
